Trees (pronounced Trez) is an imported grey Dutch Warmblood mare, by Murano who is by Burggraaf. Trees has, in her career, notched up many wins, jumping in the 1.30/1.35m Open classes and recently came second at the 1.30m Championship held at Revil Stables in March 2013. At her first Elementary Dressage Test, having not competed at dressage for a number of years, she was awarded two first places. Trees is an approved SAWHS mare, was Reserve Champion Warmblood Broodmare and First in the Warmblood Show Riding Horses under Saddle, at the Horse of the Year show in 2008. Wherever she turns to in her career, she immediately shines out from the crowd and we are proud to own such a multi-talented competitive mare.

Trees was put into foal in 2009 to London Lane Stud’s imported Holsteiner stallion, Airborn, who is by Carentino out of a Mytens xx mare. Their foal, Airress is a beautiful grey filly, who has inherited Trees and Airborn’s exceptional movement, calm temperament and hopefully their successful competitiveness and talent for jumping. Airress is being backed at present and is for sale.

Pedigree and Breeding Lines

Trees is by the stallion Murano, who is an approved Burggraaf son. He was placed seventh at his Stallion Championship and was a well built stallion of rectangular type and a correct base. He was uncomplicated and very balanced, and produced a number of successful show jumpers. Murano’s dam, Burana, was a Keur Sport Jumping horse who competed at the 1.40m level. Her sire, Saluut was approved in 1979 with impressive 9’s for jumping, character and trainability. Murano’s sire, Burggraaf, is one of the great show jumping KWPN sires of modern times.
Burggraaf combines two of the most successful Holstein jumping lines – Landgraf and Cor de la Bryère. Landgraf and Cor de la Bryère were top breeding stallions and performers who together, produced over 300 approved sons and Elite and State Premium mares. Burggraaf passed on his size, power, jumping ability and fine character to his offspring. Ixion, an Anglo Arab stallion, approved by the KWPN Society, was a direct son of the famous horse Inschallah. Ixion was awarded Predicate for his performance in Z-M level dressage and jumping. Although he was known for his strong character, he had an undeniable talent for jumping and eventing. Inschallah, a French Anglo Arab won his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf and was an important “improving” sire in modern Oldenburg and KWPN breeding, His offspring dominated in every sport from auction foals, show mares, elite foals, conformation show class winners, top dressage Olympic winning horses and International showjumpers. Tree’s dam, Gwenneth the Double Diamond, competed in Z level jumping (1.30m) in Holland.
